Titan GRADE 7
GRADE 7 alloy is classified as the seventh class of materials made of titanium. A small amount of palladium present in the composition provides the alloy with the best resistance to local and general corrosion of all titanium alloys.
Special characteristics
Titanium metal properties are characterized by exceptional resistance to corrosion in concentrated acids. The metal welds well.
The material is supplied in a full range. Today, you can buy titanium wire, pipes, sheets or plates.
The strength of GRADE 7 depends on the composition of the impurities. They can be divided into two categories:
– Replacements that include silicon and iron.
– Injections containing nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. These impurities contribute to a decrease in ductility and an increase in strength indicators that can almost double. When oxygen reaches 0.7% in the composition, plastic deformation becomes inaccessible to the metal. With every hundredth of a percent of nitrogen, GRADE 7 becomes stronger, but its plasticity is lost. If the nitrogen content reaches 0.2%, brittle fracture of titanium begins.
Applications
The price of titanium metal is determined by its properties, which are widely used in the chemical industry, for the production of reactors and other equipment operating in an aggressive environment.
