Titan GRADE 5 / W 6
The main elements that determine the properties of the GRADE 5 / VT 6 alloy are titanium, with a predominant share, aluminum and vanadium. Aluminum serves to increase mechanical strength and heat resistance, and vanadium, in addition to strength indicators, provides ductility.
Special properties
Titanium GRADE 5, in addition to high strength, is distinguished by high corrosion resistance, including salt corrosion as well as high technology. The alloy is supplied in the form of bars, pipes, profiles, forgings, plates, stampings and sheets.
All conventional welds can be applied to this material, including diffusion. Moreover, the weld is not inferior in strength to the base metal. Therefore, for example, it is possible to buy a titanium pipe for the manufacture of a structure to which special strength requirements are imposed.
Applications
Currently, alloy BT 6 is very popular. You can buy titanium for the manufacture of individual elements and large prefabricated and welded structures, for various ships and aircraft, cylinders operating under internal pressure, in a temperature range from 196 to 450 degrees.
