Stainless steel AISI 409 / EN 1.4512 / 08Х13Т
AISI 409 stainless steel belongs to general purpose alloys and is widely used in many branches of industry and production. Low-alloy steel (carbon content – up to 0.08%), high-strength, resistant to any type of corrosion attack (surface, crevice, point).
Features
Steel grade AISI 409 includes components such as manganese, nickel and chromium. The latter in the composition of steel is about 12%, which guarantees excellent strength and mechanical characteristics, and also protects the metal from corrosion.
Steel is easy to process, forge, and weld. Can be stamped and perforated without losing shape. Good ductility at any temperature allows the alloy to be used in all climatic zones.
Applications
Steel of this grade is used in civil engineering, in the manufacture of equipment for the needs of light and heavy industry. Stainless steel Aisi 409 is used in construction, used in decorating buildings and structures. In addition, the alloy is in demand in the medical industry, the food industry.
It is used in the manufacture of cars and tractors, as well as spare parts for them. The oil refining, chemical and gas industries use rolled steel 409 for the production of containers, pipes, tanks.
