Stainless steel AISI 303 / EN 1.4305 / 12x18n10e
AISI 303 is a chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. The high sulfur content makes it less resistant to corrosion than other grades of AISI stainless steel. However, the absence of magnetic properties makes steel an optimal material for the manufacture of movable and mechanical components.
Features of steel
The chemical composition of AISI 303 includes carbon, manganese, nickel, chromium, providing different properties of steel. So, nickel contributes to resistance to corrosion manifestations. Other elements can be added to increase strength.
AISI 303 stainless steel can be operated at temperatures from -196 to +200 degrees, it is well welded by any means.
Processing possible:
– On automatic lines.
– By chip removal.
– Cold forming.
– Polishing.
Applications
Affordable price for stainless steel and attractive properties contribute to the widespread use of AISI 303 in machine and automotive, electrical engineering, food and chemical industries. It is also used in the production of elements for pipelines and frame structures, high strength and long service life.
