Fine grain structural steel after thermomechanical rolling S420ML
Carbon low-alloy fine-grained structural steel grades S420ML and complies with European standard EN 10025-4.
The alloy contains up to 0, 16% carbon. Also present in significant amounts are manganese, silicon, vanadium, chromium, nickel and copper.
Special properties
Mechanical heat treatment of steel allows you to significantly increase the strength and impact strength of the material, with a slight decrease in the level of plasticity.
The yield index for different steel grades ranges from 355 to 460 megapascals. Impact strength, at a minimum temperature of -50 degrees, corresponds to 27 megapascals. Steel EN 10025-4 is also characterized by good resistance to weathering leading to corrosion. It welds well, while preheating and subsequent heat treatment of the metal is not required.
Applications
Structural fine-grained steel, grades S420ML, widely used in shipbuilding, construction, construction of bridges and other engineering structures.
