Molybdenum

Molybdenum is a hard, refractory, light gray metal used for alloying cast irons and steels. It has a high specific gravity – 10.2 grams per cubic centimeter.

Special properties

The mechanical properties that molybdenum metal possesses are determined by the purity of the material, as well as the thermal and mechanical processing. Differs in high heat resistance, elasticity, electrical conductivity and resistance to most alkaline solutions.

Stable outdoors at room temperature. Oxidation begins at a temperature of +400 degrees. The melting point of the metal is 2623 degrees.
