Inconel 686 / 2.4606
Inconel 686 is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy containing, in smaller amounts, molybdenum and tungsten . It is distinguished by high strength and resistance to any corrosion manifestations.
Properties of the alloy
The price for pipes, circles or stainless steel sheets largely depends precisely from the specification, but, first of all, from the properties of the material. In the case of Inconel 686, it is quite justified.
The alloy stands out for:
– Resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
– Resistant to cracking, at sufficiently high temperatures.
– Excellent mechanical properties, when working in frost and at higher temperatures. Inconel 686 can be recommended for service at temperatures above 700 degrees.
Additional hardening can be done by cold working. Heat treatment is performed at a temperature of 1200-900 degrees.
Applications
On a circle, pipes, stainless steel sheet price and properties of the alloy, from which they are made, makes this rolled product very popular in the chemical industry, the pulp and paper industry, instrument making, nuclear energy, and the production of equipment for the processing of household and industrial waste.
