Incoloy 20 / Alloy 20 / Carpenter 20 / 2.4660
Incoloy 20 is an austenitic stainless steel with a predominant nickel, iron and chromium content. It is distinguished by the highest strength and resistance to most aggressive environments.
Special material properties
Incoloy 20 is significantly superior to other austenitic steels in terms of strength and resistance to significant mechanical stress. In addition, the material stands out for:
– Excellent resistance to phosphoric and sulfuric acid.
– Convincing resistance to intracrystalline corrosion.
– Resistance to crevice and pitting corrosion, as well as corrosion cracking, which is provoked by chloride ions.
– Stability of mechanical properties, with temperature changes .
Incoloy 20 is stabilized with niobium to help minimize carbide deposition when welding. At the same time, it can be welded with similar materials and other types of metals.
Applications
Incoloy 20 steel is successfully used in the manufacture of equipment used for the production of medicines, sulfuric acid, synthetic materials, food products, dyes.
