AISI 309 steel / EN 1.4828 / 20X23H13
Stainless steel AISI 309 is a heat-resistant alloy with nickel and chromium components. The composition of the alloy is sufficiently balanced, which allows it to resist oxidative processes and maintain strength over a wide temperature range.
Features
Steel grades 309 and 309S are distinguished by good ductility in processing, the alloy is perfectly welded by any type of welding . This allows steel to be widely used in all sectors of the national economy.
Such a characteristic of steel as the upper temperature limit of use is about a thousand degrees. At the same time, experts do not recommend the use of steel in structures with high requirements for strength at temperatures exceeding 800°C. This increases the brittleness of the alloy due to the formation of scale on the surface.
Application and use of AISI 309
Alloys based on AISI 309 steel are widely used in all areas where high temperatures are present. With increased strength and resistance to corrosion processes, steel is durable in all types of structures.
Steel is mainly used in the production of parts and structural elements. The alloy is used for:
• cementing containers;
• conveyors for furnaces;
• fittings for steel production;
• pipelines for the oil and gas industry.
In addition, the alloy is in demand in construction, mining, and the chemical industry.
