Haynes 556 / UNS R30556 / 1.4883
Haynes 556 heat resistant steel is an alloy based on iron, nickel, chromium and cobalt . In addition, in much smaller proportions, it contains tungsten, molybdenum, carbon, silicon and manganese.
Special properties of the alloy
Adjusted balance alloying elements, provides steel with high resistance to carburizing, sulfiding and chlorine-containing environments.
Also, heat-resistant steels exhibit excellent resistance to oxidation, at high operating temperatures, to the effects of various salts, molten zinc , all kinds of corrosion manifestations.
Haynes 556 melts at temperatures from 1330 to 1415 degrees.
Applications
Rolled metal, made of Haynes 556 alloy, is supplied in the form of a rod, plate, sheet, strip, seamless pipe and tube.
Steel is in great demand in the production of elements industrial waste incinerators, various furnaces, rotary calciners, hot-dip galvanizing equipment, high-temperature components of spacecraft and aircraft.
