Haynes 230 / Alloy 230 / 2.4733
Haynes 230 high alloy steel is a high temperature nickel based alloy. Alloying with chromium, tungsten and molybdenum makes Haines alloy resistant to corrosion, oxidizing environments and temperatures up to 1150 degrees.
Performance properties
The high chromium content provides resistance to high temperature corrosion manifestations, while molybdenum and tungsten are responsible for the high strength of the material. Oxidation resistance is enhanced with a small addition of the rare earth lanthanum.
Nickel alloys, including Haynes 230, are smelted in an open arc furnace. Alloy rolling is possible at a temperature of 1000 degrees. As part of the heat treatment, stamping and drawing are also possible. When cold, grinding, drilling, milling and turning are possible.
Applications
Haynes 230 heat-resistant steel is successfully used in the production of elements jet engines and land-based gas turbines, heat-resistant components of melting and drying furnaces, heat shields, special medical equipment, metalworking tools and ore processing equipment.
