Electrical steel 3409 / 27P100

Steel grade 3409 is an electrical sulfide alloy. Not infrequently, the steels of this group are called “dynamic” or “transformer”.
The basis of the material is iron, with a share of up to 96%. It also contains from 2.8 to 3.8% silicon, which affects the electromagnetic properties of steel. If necessary, it can be alloyed with aluminum.

Special properties
Sheet metal can be purchased with a thickness of 0.05 to 2 millimeters.
Cold-rolled anisotropic grade 3409 has a ribbed structure that promotes high magnetic permeability in the direction of rolling and low specific losses in a weak field.
A significant amount of silicon, which contains sheet iron, also provides a high level of relative magnetic permeability in a weak and medium field, a decrease in eddy current losses, as well as an increase in electrical resistivity and a decrease in density.

Anisotropic steel is supplied exclusively in heat-treated form.
The low price per electrical sheet is a consequence of the lack of deficiency of the elements included in the composition of the alloy.

Applications
Steel 3409 is used in the manufacture of components for magnetic circuits, electromagnets, electric motors, generators, voltage stabilizers and other electrical equipment.
