2412 / M270-35A / M310 – 50A Electrical Steel
2412 cold rolled sheet steel is a sulfur isotropic alloy , with unnormalized chemical composition. May contain up to 96% iron and 2.8 to 3.8% silicon.
Special properties
2412 steel is produced in heat-treated condition for magnetic characteristics. It has a heat-resistant coating that does not impair forging.
Alloy 2412 belongs to isotropic steels with a non-oriented grain structure, which is characterized by independence from the direction of magnetic characteristics.
Rolled metal is manufactured with a thickness of 0.28 to 0.65 millimeters, in a fairly wide range of widths.
A sufficiently high silicon content provides a significant indicator of relative magnetic permeability in weak and medium field, reducing eddy current losses, increasing electrical resistivity and reducing the density of the alloy.
Applications
very accessible for wide application, due to its magnetic properties, it is successfully used in the production of components for magnetic circuits of electric machines, various devices and other electrical equipment.
