Alloy UNS C37000 / DIN 2.0402 / Brass Ls 59-1
Alloy Ls59-1 is a complexly alloyed lead brass related to pressure-treated materials. Contains up to 57-60% copper, from 37 to 42.2% zinc, from 0.8 to 1.9% lead, as well as alloying additives, including iron, tin, phosphorus, silicon, antimony and bismuth. Impurities do not exceed 0.75%.
Special Properties
Brass is much cheaper than copper. At the same time, Ls59-1 is more durable. In addition, the alloy is characterized by increased ductility, resistance to corrosion manifestations and good manufacturability.
The high plasticity of the material is used in the production of long products and sheets. You can buy brass in the form of pipes, sheets, rods, wires, strips.
The melting temperature of the alloy is 900 degrees, it is processed, at 780-820 degrees, and annealed at 600-650 degrees.
Applications
The unique properties of Ls59-1, as well as the sheet price available for pipe, strip, wire, brass, make the alloy very popular. It is used in the production of various fasteners, as well as gears, bushings, gears and other similar products.
