Quite often there are cases when it is necessary to glue some kind of metal product, but most people do not know how and with what to glue the metal. However, absolutely everyone can do such work, the main thing is to know the sequence of all actions in the process of work.
Regardless of the structure and alloys of metal objects being glued, there is a time-tested, and most importantly, reliable method of gluing.
1. First you need to purchase a special adhesive for bonding, which, oddly enough, can be purchased not in the department of building or household goods, but in an auto parts store. It is there that you should purchase a two-component epoxy adhesive, the so-called “cold welding”. This tool is better than others able to cope with the bonding of metal products. The kit of such a tool includes a tube with an active substance and a tube with a hardener.
2. Before gluing, without fail, it is necessary to degrease the surfaces of the product to be glued with any solvent, thereby ensuring the best contact between them. If there is rust, it should be cleaned with a wire brush or sandpaper. Only then should you start gluing.
3. To do this, the active substance and hardener should be mixed in equal proportions and the resulting mixture should be evenly applied to the surfaces to be glued, after which they should be pressed against each other. As a rule, epoxy glue cures within ten minutes, so you should not hesitate while working. After complete curing, and this is about fifteen minutes later, the glued objects can be used for their intended purpose.
